I’m white, you’re black, she’s brown, he’s tan, they’re not.

SO?

while it seems on the outside there are so many differences

isn’t what’s on the inside what counts the most?

we talk about it, we judge by it

race

it’s not a condition

it’s not something to be fixed

it’s only a color

and God Himself made them all

AND HE SAID IT WAS GOOD!

if we were all blind, would race matter?

if we were all one color, i think we’d still have plenty to talk about

when it all boils down

when it’s all come out in the wash

when there’s nothing left but our humanity

what do we have to fight about?

to be superior or even inferior about?

NOTHING

at the core we all bleed

in the center of us all we want to be loved, cared for…accepted

all those things,

the things i just listed

Yeah, that’s all any person really wants

so if you need to separate yourself from someone

do it for the right reasons

do it for safety, do it for justice

but never, ever do it for a color

a race

we are all God’s chosen generation, His royal priesthood,

a holy nation

His own special people

set apart

to proclaim His praises

because He is the One that calls ALL colors, ALL races OUT of darkness into His marvelous light!

voices, they aren’t colors

praises, they don’t have colors

God’s people, they HAVE colors

and He thinks they’re ALL GOOD

so should we.

Wonderful and precious take on the word. My first impulse was in this direction but then I was pulled in another this morning when I actually sat down to write. Fantastic.
