They say it’s where the heart is, where we hang our hat.
It is where by its hearth, burn embers of love and devotion…sacred togetherness only a family can share.
We are here.
We are where embraces linger long and tight, where tails wag in unbridled excitement for the chance to kiss faces with slobbery tongues.
We are where floor boards creak familiar and where the annoying sounds of the motor churning away for the fish tank become a comfort and yes, that’s exactly where I left my pink fuzzy slippers.
I rest my head on the pillow that is shaped just for me and under the blankets that conform to body so well, I find safe sleep.
I slip them on and I slip on home, being home…
We are home!
